Meet Christina: Licensed Aesthetician and Renude Skincare Expert
Renude expert Christina talking career highlights and skincare advice
When did you first realise you wanted a career in skin?
I would have to say i fell into the beauty industry, as I originally trained as a professional Dancer, however I decided not to pursue and in the time when i was figuring out what next, my sister decided to sign up me to my local college to study beauty therapy. At the time I had a severe acne and was seeing a dermatologist and my love of skincare began. Within a week of classes I knew this was what I was meant to do.
Tell us a bit about your experience in the industry
I started my career in five star luxury hotel spas, I gained a lot of experience in the industry and I became known as a celebrity facialist. After 8 years in spas and seeing a lot of skin conditions I then decided to train in aesthetics before heading to Harley Street working full time in aesthetics alongside doctors and dermatologists, which I currently do .
What would you say has been your career highlight?
There have been many career highlights to date and if i was to pick one it would be working on Harley Street alongside doctors and dermatologists. I gained a lot of first hand experience with clinical diagnosed skin disorders and treating with lasers and other modalities to achieve results and optimise long term skin health.
What is your favourite thing about working in skincare?
My favourite aspect of my role would be treating clients and seeing the visible changes within their skin as well as their self confidence and seeing through different stages of journey. Initial concerns will change over time and other concerns may creep in, depending on where they are at in their life.
What ingredients are in your personal skincare routine?
My skincare routine consists of many ingredients such as Vitamin A, L- Ascorbic acid, Azelaic Acid, Niacinamide & zinc oxide to name a few.
What do you love about working at Renude?
I love being able to reach a wider audience therefore making skin care accessible to all, which is important to me. I think everyone should be able to look and feel their best, no matter the budget. Clinics are just not accessible to everyone and there is a lot pseudoscience on the internet. Renude brings qualified practicing professionals to the platform to help many people overcome their skin concerns, which can literally transform someone's life and it is rewarding to know you can make a difference.
What is your best bit of skincare advice?
The best bit of skincare advice would be to see a professional if you're really struggling with a particular concern and do not suffer in silence. We are here to help and if it is out of our expertise we can direct you towards the best person to help you.
