Renude AI Presents at the Global Dermatology Summit
Following the success of our presentation at the IMCAS Dermatology World Congress in January, we were invited to speak at the Dermatology Innovation Forum in March — held on the eve of the American Academy of Dermatology congress.
This session focused specifically on Skin & Digital, with a sharp lens on the emerging role of Large Language Models (LLMs) in Dermatology. Speakers included some of the field’s early adopters and experts, such as Dr Justin Ko, Dr Shannon Wongvibulsin and Dr Art Papier.
Our talk, “Combining Multimodal AI with LLMs to Provide Personalised Skin Support within Dermatological Care”, explored how these technologies are evolving — and where the real opportunity lies to create impact for both patients and consumers.
A recurring theme in the session was the issue of access: the reality that across many markets, access to qualified dermatological care remains limited. We explored how advancements in LLMs are creating new ways to deliver expert guidance at scale, particularly when combined with visual analysis and structured knowledge.
But with this opportunity comes responsibility. Several speakers raised valid concerns about accuracy, and the importance of grounding AI outputs in verified knowledge bases, especially when it comes to health-related decision-making.
In our talk, we shared the journey behind the development of Skin Chat AI, and how it was shaped by years of real-world conversations with consumers.
We started by listening — understanding what people were asking, what they were unsure about, and what helped them feel confident in their skincare choices. That research, combined with our proprietary database of professional product recommendations and ingredient-level intelligence, now powers our conversational AI engine.
On top of that sits our AI Skin Analysis, which gives users a clear visual understanding of their skin's condition and needs — enabling more tailored guidance.
A key part of Skin Chat AI’s effectiveness is its multimodal design. In real consultations, people often hold up a product or a photo instead of naming it — so we built that in. Whether it’s uploading a picture of their moisturiser or a selfie for skin analysis, the system is designed to flex to how people naturally communicate.
This approach mirrors how a dermatologist or aesthetician might support someone face-to-face, and makes the digital experience far more accessible and intuitive.
The response from the dermatology community was overwhelmingly positive. Skin Chat AI was described as offering “immense potential” to solve one of the most urgent problems facing the profession: making expert skin support more available, accurate and scalable.
